Anise belongs to Apiaceae family and Plantae Kingdom. It is a flowering plant which is also called as Aniseed. Anise is an herbaceous herb which grows annually to a height of 3 ft (0.9 m) or more. The leaves at the bottom of Anise are 3⁄8–2 in (1–5 cm) long andleaves on the upper part of the plant are bisected into many small leaflets. The flowers are white in colour which is 3 mm in diameter that are found in clusters. The fruit of the plant is 3 to 6 mm long.The apt condition for the growth of Anise is fertile and well-drained soil. The roots of the plant are called as taproot which cannot be transplanted once it is sown and starts growing.
