I am 55 and as I had some bleeding after sex, I had a womb scrape. The doctor gave me a cream to use and go back to my GP if it happened again. I am worried that I may be suffering from cancer.

A. If no serious problem was detected when you had womb scrape (pap smear), then you don’t have cancer now. After menopause you may have a lining of vagina lacking in hormone oestrogen which is easily bruised by sexual intercourse. If you see any blood, go to the doctor again.
