Q. If Achilles tendon is ruptured, how is it treated?

A. Since there are very few blood vessels, so they don’t heal so quickly and the ruptured tendons may be two or three inches apart. They are sewn by surgery. The knee and ankle joints are immobilized so that there is no movement between the heel and the tendon which may take few weeks to cure.
